About Ignite
Our Mission
Our mission is to ignite the distinct call of God in the lives of our students.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to incubate a generation of students who are willing to transcend into effective ministers. Our objective is to develop ministers spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Student Life
What if you made a covenant to dedicate your life completely to the Lord? This is the spirit behind Ignite. Our dream is to ignite a spiritual flame inside the lives of believers through prayer, fasting, and chapel services.
About Gainesville
Located in the north central region of Florida, Gainesville is the largest city of Alachua County. Our city is home to Florida’s largest university, the University of Florida. With an enrollment of over 50,000 students, Gainesville is a breeding ground for young people striving to develop their future.
Ignite Life Center
As a student you will serve at our home church, Ignite Life Center. ILC sits on a beautiful four-acre campus in the city of Gainesville. ILC is a thriving church that is served by Pastors Mark and Lisa Vega. ILC's vision is to connect with God through our services, to grow in Godly relationships through our life groups, to serve in the city of Gainesville through different outreaches, and to go into the world to preach the Gospel
Housing
Our Ignite students reside at our very own apartment complex on the west side of Gainesville. The students enjoy the family life of living with their classmates while at the Ignite Apartments. The leadership of Ignite thrives on providing a safe and accountable environment for students to enjoy and grow.
One-on-one Mentoring
Many educators through studies have discovered that there is a correlation between one on one mentoring and self improvement. This method of mentoring is a regular practice here at Ignite. As a student you will be provided various opportunities to be mentored by our pastors and our staff.
Family Time
One of the most favored activities in our weekly schedule is family time. It is an intimate time shared amongst family groups that are created within the students and staff. Here they are able to unwind emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
Prayer & Fasting
It was once said, “Find me a movement of God and I will find you a man full of prayer and fasting”! Throughout history prayer and fasting have been the catalyst for the signs and wonders that have accompanied the church. Prayer and Fasting is embedded into our DNA and we hold every student accountable to this kind of lifestyle.
Academics
We believe that the classroom of Ignite is the place to re-calibrate, re-focus and rebuild the necessary foundation of the Word. We offer many classes that will shape the mind of the believer such as: Prayer and Fasting, Fear of the Lord, Servanthood, I Hate Sin, Bondage Breaker, Altar Call, and a variety of others! You will find specifics on classes in each internship page.
The Academy
Ignite has partnered with Southeastern University’s Academy. The academy is an online division of Southeastern University. Ignite provides you the opportunity to enroll in the certified level. Courses are made up of a specified number of units each containing an assigned textbook, overview, and an online exam. Courses include : Acts, Life of Christ, How to Interpret the Bible, Ephesians, AG History, Missions, and Governance, Christian Ethics, Personal Evangelism, Intro to Pentecostal Doctrine. Credits are transferable to any university and are worth four college credits. Once you have completed this level you have the opportunity to become a certified minister.
Human Video & Drama
Human Video & Drama provide a medium in which Ignite is able to minister more effectively to this generation. We choose to minister not only through our creativity but through our lives as we provide a visual sermon for this day and age.
Outreaches & Traveling
As an Ignite student you will participate in various ministry trips and outreaches around the country. We have covered the span of the nation ministering at diverse events and youth conferences as well as weekly services in the city of Gainesville. Some of the community outreaches include children’s ministry, homeless outreach, Ignite Campus Ministry at UF, prison ministry and many more. Through confidential conversations, fellowship and recreational activities with our community we are able to reach Gainesville.
Fan the Flame, FSU Documentary
